Mistral Large gave an agency called SEO Nordic a convincing description: international SEO, link building and content strategy. It also gave the agency a website, seonordic.com.

We could not verify the agency it described. We could verify the address. The domain had been a parking page in 2012, redirected to a domain seller in 2013, and was still listed for sale in a 2022 archive capture.

Rankfor.AI OÜ now owns seonordic.com. We bought it after finding the address in our research. The page we have prepared tells visitors why an AI answer may have brought them there and points them to the agency rankings from the same study.

What was in the answers

Between 7 and 9 September 2026, we collected 33,480 answers about agencies in eight markets: Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Six models answered the study prompts through their APIs. The collection covered SEO in all eight markets, with advertising, media and PR questions in a subset of them.

A fresh check of the complete collection found 181 answers containing the exact domain seonordic.com. All 181 came from Mistral Large. We counted each answer once, even if the address appeared more than once in it.

The descriptions changed with the question. One Danish answer presented SEO Nordic as an agency for international SEO, link building and content strategy. Swedish answers placed it in Swedish cities and described work across Nordic markets. Finnish answers also supplied the address.

Those descriptions are statements made by the model. We have not verified the business, offices, customers, services or ratings it attached to the name.

The original working note said 37 mentions. That number came from selected Denmark and Estonia ranking rows. It missed references elsewhere in the collection. We changed the page to the narrower, reproducible claim: 181 answers supplied this domain, all from Mistral Large. A name match and a domain reference answer different questions, so we keep the two counts separate.

What the domain history shows

The 4 December 2012 archive capture shows a parking page with related searches. The 31 March 2013 capture redirects to a HugeDomains profile for the domain. A 13 February 2022 seller capture still offers SeoNordic.com for sale.

These are dated observations. They do not let us reconstruct every day of the domain's history or prove that no business with the same name ever operated elsewhere. We found no verified agency behind the particular website and descriptions in these answers.

The records also do not explain how Mistral Large produced the name. We make no claim that a real agency with a similar name caused it.

Why put an explanation at the address?

Someone who follows an agency recommendation expects to find the agency. A redirect to our home page would leave that expectation unexplained.

The SEO Nordic page begins with the explanation. It names Mistral Large, states the observed result, and discloses that Rankfor owns the domain. Its first link leads to the measured agency rankings. Its second takes visitors to Rankfor to check what AI says about their own company.

The rankings measure which agencies appeared in a defined set of answers. They can help a reader see the differences between markets, languages and models. They are not a certification of agency quality, and an appearance in an answer does not establish that the described business exists.

What we will measure next

Buying the domain does not tell us whether anyone follows these recommendations. After the explanatory page is live, we can measure visits and onward clicks. A recorded API answer, a referral visit and a completed company check will remain separate observations.

We can also repeat the original prompts and record whether the address still appears. Any comparison will retain the model version, date, language and prompt. A change after publishing this page would be an observation to investigate; timing alone would not show that our page caused the change.

For a company, the practical check is simple: ask what the model says about you, inspect the addresses it gives, and check whether the description matches the business a visitor will find there.
